New Spotify Jolicloud app and our weekly selection

September 7th, 2009 at 8:35 pm

Many of you have already tried to install Spotify using the Wine Windows emulation. Our team is now offering you a one-click issue-free install of Spotify on your Jolicloud.

The installation is very easy. You click on Spotify from the Jolicloud App Directory, it installs and will work right away with the correct sound configuration. Even better, this version is compatible with Spotify  links, so listening to specific music from a direct link or exchanging playlists is now possible.

On this occasion, our friends at Spotify have given us free invites for our Jolicloud users in France, Spain and the UK. If you live in one of those countries, you can click on the following link to sign up and create your Spotify account now: https://www.spotify.com/en/get-started/.

If you live in another country where Spotify is open (Sweden, Finland or Norway) and still wish to create an account, email us at operation.spotify@jolicloud.com. We’ll see what we can do!

Note: for those of you who have manually installed Spotify before, you can uninstall your previous version by clicking on “Uninstall Wine Software” in “Wine” and selecting “Spotify” to start the uninstall process.

I installed Spotify but can’t make it work.
It says “connecting”, “updating”, then exit, then I get an alert saying : “The spotify Updater is trying to install the update, but didn’t succeed” (error message is : access denied (5)”.

I have a premium account, anything to do with this ?
(I think I entered my account info at the first launch)
