Some important updates are available on Jolicloud today: FireFox 3.5.7, Adobe AIR 2 Beta, and Boxee Beta. To upgrade to the latest versions, just click on ‘Update All’ on your Jolicloud dashboard.

Boxee Beta

The new version of Boxee, the open source platform that integrates personal media with Internet media and social networking has received a complete UI overhaul that makes browsing through content even easier. It includes the ability to filter a show by season and episode and easier sharing using Boxee’s social features, allowing users to share info about what they are watching on Facebook or Twitter.

Boxee

SynchTube is a new app that offers a place to watch Youtube videos with friends in real time. The service creates a special URL for a video room that is good for 3 people to join and chat.

Flavors.me

Looking for a one-stop place to show the world who you are and what you do? Flavors.me lets you create an elegant website using personal content from Flickr, Last.fm, Tumblr, Twitter, Vimeo and Facebook in about 10 minutes. The appeal of Flavors.me lies in how easy and instantly rewarding it is. You can customize your main content, use your own background image, and try different layouts, styles and colors.

Flavors.me

Cliqset is a FriendFeed-like online identity platform that lets you merge and share social info, including status updates, location, photos, and more, all in one place.

If you looking to publish your Facebook pictures in a nice magazine-like format, YoutellYou will do just that, and let you add captions and nicely weave your story. Popular bookmarking service Instapaper lets you save webpages for reading later on the site itself or on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Vim

Vim is a highly configurable text editor. An acronym for “Vi Improved”, Vim is an improved version of the vi editor distributed with most UNIX systems. Vim’s many additional features are designed to be helpful in editing program source code. The full functionality is expressed in command line mode, and a built-in tutorial for beginners is available through the “vimtutor” command.

Vim

ZumoDrive offers cloud storage for all your documents and media without sacrificing the benefits of local storage. You can access your music, photos, and documents easily. ZumoDrive mimics a standard hard drive but saves content in the cloud and then streams it to each of your devices instead of saving local copies.

PoketyPoke

PoketyPoke is your personal Conference Call manager, built so that you never miss another important call or be the one dialing in late. Just forward all your conference call’s details to the service, which will confirm it via email. At the scheduled time PoketyPoke will call you and connect you directly to the conference call.

PoketyPoke

Google Tasks is a super simple task-tracking app that stays up to date no matter how you access it. As an alternative to lists, whiteboard app SquareLeaf lets you arrange colored sticky notes in the visual way most suitable for you. We’ve also added the web version of SimpleNote, the popular note-taking app for iPhone and iPod Touch.

tDash

A dashboard for Twitter, tDash aims to reproduce Google Reader’s clean and simple interface. It marks tweets as read, organizes tweets by sender and offers inline expansion of conversations. tDash supports Twitter lists and a number of keyboard shortcuts.

tDash

Finally password manager Mitto will help you strengthen your passwords for all your online accounts without having to remember the actual string. Log into any of your websites in one click from Mitto.

Enjoy!

Review by Practitioner for Principles of Finance with Excel: Includes CD
Rating:
With an undergraduate degree in economics and two years of working experience in Wall St, you can say that I had the chance to read quite a few finance books. I find Principles of Finance with Excel to be hands-down the best Intro-Finance book of them all. Not only does it explains the finance topics very clearly, it teaches you how to apply this knowledge in Excel. This is by far, in my opinion, the best way to learn finance. Furthermore, since solutions to the exercises are included on the CD, this book is perfect to the self-motivated reader. Lost or stolen, I would purchase this book again.
